Every year in August the old town of Gdansk changes significantly and fills up with stands selling crafts, arts and all kinds of interesting things This is always accompanied by a lot of events and music concerts. The reason for all of it are the 3 weeks of St. Dominic Market, one of the biggest trade events in Europe, taking place since the XIIIth century.

Modern music is played during many concerts near the Oliwa Gate in the summer season, organized by the Gdansk Music Scene (Gdańska Scena Muzyczna).

In December, at the Coal Market, a Christmas Fair with a lot of attractions is taking place every year. On approximately 200 stands, you will find Christmas gifts and decorations, Christmas trees and occasional sweets.
